WHY DESING?
Design is one of the key sources of competitive advantage for enterprises. Furthermore, unlike patents, it also offers opportunities for smaller entities that do not have high budgets. Pursuing to distinguish a product based on design also gives the opportunity to use the local heritage and strengthen the company’s brand with the strength of the region’s brand.
Design is also important to the OEES program policy. First of all, because it is one of the intangible assets. Secondly, it enables building local networks of horizontal cooperation between enterprises (the concept of islands and archipelagos by Prof. A. Nowak). It is also important in the context of cooperation between universities of various profiles (academies of fine arts, technical universities, universities of economics) as well as science-business cooperation, by using the academic achievements of designers.
