Elżbieta Nachlik – profesor doktor habilitowany nauk technicznych w zakresie inżynierii środowiska, kierownik katedry Inżynierii i Gospodarki Wodnej w Politechnice Krakowskiej. Naukowo i praktycznie zajmuje się inżynierią i gospodarką wodną, a w szczególności zagadnieniami powodziowymi. Jest autorem ponad 120 publikacji, w tym kilkunastu monograficznych.
Jest kierownikiem i współautorem kilkudziesięciu projektów naukowych i rozwojowych. Jest współautorem pierwszej metodyki oceny stref zagrożenia powodziowego w Polsce i jej wdrożenia (Komponenty B.4.2.1 i B.1.1.2 Projektu w ramach umowy-kredytu nr 4264POL Banku Światowego pt. „Likwidacja skutków powodzi w Polsce”, 1998-2005), a także regionalnych i lokalnych koncepcji, planów i projektów w zakresie oceny zagrożenia i ochrony przed powodzią w górnych dorzeczach Odry i Wisły oraz szerzej gospodarowania wodami –na poziomie krajowym i międzynarodowym. Obecnie zajmuje się gospodarowaniem wodami opadowymi w miastach.
Elżbieta Nachlik jest członkiem Komitetu Gospodarki Wodnej PAN, od 2007 roku przewodniczy Radzie Programowej ds. gospodarki wodno-ściekowej przy Prezydencie Miasta Krakowa, w latach 2011-2015 pełniła funkcję przewodniczącej Krajowej Rady Gospodarki Wodnej.
Elżbieta Nachlik – full professor of Environmental Engineering Sciences, head of the Department of Engineering and Water Management at the Cracow University of Technology. Scientifically and practically deals with engineering and water management, and in particular with flood issues. She is the author of over 120 publications, including several monographs.
She is the manager and co-author of dozens of scientific and development projects. She is the main author of the first methodology for assessing flood hazard zones in Poland and its implementation (Components B.4.2.1 and B.1.1.2 of the Project under the credit agreement No. 4264 of the World Bank titled „Liquidation of the effects of floods in Poland”, 1998-2005), as well as regional and local concepts, plans and projects in the field of assessment threats and protection against flooding in the upper Odra and Vistula basin districts as well as wider water management at the national and international level. Currently, she deals with stormwater management in cities.
Elżbieta Nachlik is a member of the Water Management Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, since 2007 she has been chairing the Program Board for water and wastewater management at the Mayor of the City of Krakow, in the years 2011-2015 she was the chairman of the National Water Management Council.
