Cees Donkers

Cees Donkers is the leading urban designer of Eindhoven, Netherlands, founder of the Architectural Centre of Eindhoven. Cees graduated from Technical University Eindhoven, faculty of Architecture and urban design. He took part in the number of large-scale projects, such as Masterplan former Philips sites (White Lady), Masterplan Smalle Haven (Jo Coenen), Piazza and 18 September Square (Massimiliano Fuksas). In 1991 he got the National Prize from minister for maintenance. Project Eindhoven 2000+ with Peter Eisenman and talented students, start of convenant with TU/e. 2000-2010 in close partnership with the number of institutes he coordinated the researching program City as a Laboratory. For several years he worked for the E+ atelier, in 2008 he founded the virtual E+ academy for students. Since 2000 Cees took part in organizing the Dutch Design Week with results from City LAB projects

 

Cees Donkers

Dutch architect-urbanist, founder of Architectural Center Eindhoven and the City as a LAB studio and the main person behind Eindhoven’s transformation from an industrial to innovative city. Cees has extensive experience in urban development and is also a social architect and urban environment designer.
