Dr hab. inż. Ewa Adamiec ukończyła studia magisterskie na Wydziale Geodezji Górniczej i Inżynierii Środowiska Akademii Górniczo-Hutnicze, na kierunku Inżynieria Środowiska. W ramach stypendium Instytutu Szwedzkiego, przez semestr studiowała „Ecological Engineering” w Mid Sweden University w Östersund w Szwecji. Odbyła staże naukowe m.in. w Institut für Agrotechnik und Landeskultur w Uniwersytecie Halle-Wittenberg w oraz w Instytucie Chemii Nieorganicznej i Stosowanej na Uniwersytecie w Hamburgu.
Jest stypendystką Fundacji Prof. Nowickiego i Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, a także Fundacji na Rzecz Nauki Polskiej. W 2002 roku uzyskała stopień doktora nauk o Ziemi, a w 2018 stopień doktora habilitowanego. Obecnie pracuje w Katedrze Ochrony Środowiska na Wydziale Geologii, Geofizyki i Ochrony Środowiska w AGH i pełni funkcję prodziekana ds. kształcenia i spraw studenckich dla studentów studiów stacjonarnych kierunków Górnictwo i Geologia, Ekologiczne Źródła Energii oraz Ochrona Środowiska na tymże Wydziale.
W swoich badaniach porusza problematykę dotyczącą zmian antropogenicznych w obszarach silnie zdegradowanych i zurbanizowanych, a w szczególności w środowisku miejskim w pobliżu szlaków komunikacyjnych o dużej kongestii.
Ewa Adamiec, PhD, Eng. graduated from the Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering at AGH University of Science and Technology, the faculty of Environmental Engineering. As part of the Swedish Institute scholarship, she studied „Ecological Engineering” at Mid Sweden University in Östersund, Sweden for one semester. She completed scientific internships, among others at the Institut für Agrotechnik und Landeskultur at the University of Halle-Wittenberg and the Institute for Inorganic and Applied Chemistry at the University of Hamburg.
She is a scholar of the Professor Nowicki’s Foundation and the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, as well as the Foundation for Polish Science. In 2002 she obtained a PhD degree in Earth Sciences, and in 2018 a postdoctoral degree. Currently, she is working at the Department of Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection at AGH and she is the Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs for the students of full-time studies in the Mining and Geology, Ecological Energy Sources and Environmental Protection faculties.
In her research, she discusses the issues of anthropogenic changes in heavily degraded and urbanised areas and, in particular, in the urban environment in the vicinity of communication routes with high congestion.
